Meko and DisplaySearch Announce Preliminary Agenda and Call for Speakers for DisplayForum 2008
DATE: 12th March 2008

DisplaySearch and Meko are pleased to announce the preliminary agenda and 'Call for Speakers' for the 2008 DisplayForum conference. The event will be held on 4th and 5th November 2008 at the Radisson SAS Scandinavia Hotel, Düsseldorf. This event will bring together the entire range of stakeholders in the European display industry, from R&D institutes and material suppliers to brand marketeers, to look at the prospects for the business in 2008. Attendees can meet with their customers, customers' customers, suppliers and suppliers' suppliers all in a single location saving thousands in travel expenses while rounding out their view of the market.

Candidate sessions include:

The Outlook for TV around the World and in Europe - In this session, DisplaySearch and Meko analysts will look at the current state of the market for TVs, both world-wide and in Europe. Proponents of LCD and PDP will discuss the merits of their technologies. Brand owners will talk about what's needed to be successful as a local or global brand. Financial analysts will give a view of the TV and display business from the monetary point of view.

TV Content in Europe - TV always needs content, delivered to consumers and displayed on the sets. This session looks at the drivers for digital TV and HDTV in Europe, the potential for new content delivery through IPTV and the impact on the set market. Also under discussion are the drivers for mobile TV and the developments within this market for handset manufacturers and suppliers. Content will also come from packaged media, especially Blu-ray and HD DVD.

FPD Supply & Demand - Price is a critical factor in market success in displays, and pricing is dependent on the supply/demand balance. In this session, DisplaySearch will present data on the current and future scenarios for supply/demand and look at the effects on price.

IT Displays (monitors and notebooks) - Despite the growth in TV, the monitor and notebook PC industries remain major markets for LCD makers. In this session, PC makers and third party display suppliers will give their views on the state and future of the market

Public Displays - The digital signage market is a growth sector both in Europe and world-wide and represents a great opportunity for manufacturers. Under discussion will be the factors affecting the developments in technology and supply, while specialists in digital signage will look at the media issues that will impact market growth in Europe.
