Meko has an experienced team of senior consultants who can advise on marketing and management within the European Display Industry.
Bob Raikes - Meko's Principal
"one of the industry's most influential specialists" BBC
Bob Raikes is an experienced sales and marketing specialist in distribution and in the PC displays business in particular. Pursuing a keen interest in micro-computers, he joined the PC industry in 1982 at Data Efficiency. Following a spell to establish the distribution company DDL, he helped to set-up Taxan UK as the UK sales manager. From there he spent seven years with Japanese monitor and graphic board maker Eizo, initially as sales director and later as managing director of the company's UK subsidiary. He established Meko Ltd in 1994.
As well as being managing editor of Display Monitor, Bob was for several years the displays editor for The Peddie Report and a regular contributor to Computer Shopper and other titles.
Bob long ago decided that if Moore can have a law, he can have one too.
Bob's First Law, first developed in the mid-1980s, states: "Everyone that buys a computer, always buys another".
Bob's Second Law states: "Anything that increases the visual bandwidth wins in the end". This observation dates from slightly later, after years of hearing the questions: "Who needs graphics?", "Who needs colour?", "Why does anyone need more than 256 colours/a 15" screen/VGA resolution?". The law predicts that there will be a continuous development of electronic displays until they match the capabilities of human visual perception
Azhar Mohd-Hashim - Warranty Service Manager/Desktop Monitor and Public Display Analyst
Azhar Mohd-Hashim joined Meko in December 2009, bringing with him a wealth of industry experience having been involved in the IT industry for 24 years, primarily in the display sector.
Prior to joining Meko, Azhar was European quality manager at Viewsonic, where he managed the quality management system, service and parts processes and reverse logistics.
He has been working in regulatory compliance throughout his career and has implemented several product standards and EU directives at Viewsonic, Capetronic and IBM. This included the introduction of the WEEE, RoHs, REACH, EMC and TCO inititiatives. Azhar was part of an IT industry action group on recycling long before WEEE had been thought of. He was also a member of the MPR-II standards committee on low-emission monitors - the pre-cursor of TCO standards.
As well as managing the warranty service for Meko, Azhar also looks after the desktop monitor and public display service.
